who, what, why
rainrainsound is a small, independent web project with one idea at its core: ambient sound should never loop. Everything you hear is synthesized live in your browser with the Web Audio API — there are no recordings, so nothing can repeat.
What it is
A free rain and ambient mixer: fourteen live-synthesized sounds (rain, thunder, wind, ocean, stream, fire, birds, crickets, chimes, drone, singing bowl, temple bell, koto, bamboo), moods and 20–30 minute journeys, sleep and focus timers, a living weather engine that lets storms approach and recede, and a scene that behaves like a real window — droplets on the glass, lightning before thunder, tonight's actual moon phase.
Principles
No account, ever. Free forever, with the core experience never paywalled. Light on data — nothing is streamed. Honest about what it is and isn't. If it helps you sleep or work, you can support it on Gumroad, where there are free journals and ebooks as a thank-you.
