Night listening has different needs from daytime: you want the sound to get out of the way, the screen to go dark, and everything to stop on its own once you are asleep. rainrainsound has a mode for each — wind-down gradually softens the mix, the sleep timer fades to silence, and Vantablack turns the display truly black.

Try the Nightfall journey

If you would rather not fiddle with sliders at midnight, start the Nightfall journey: twenty-five minutes of evening rain in which a distant storm passes and the rain slowly thins until almost nothing is left — a soundscape with a built-in ending, timed for falling asleep.

Keep the light out

Vantablack mode turns the screen pure black — on OLED phones those pixels are simply off, so there is no glow on the ceiling and less battery drain. The interface also fades itself away after a few quiet moments, leaving just the sound.

Will it stop by itself?
Yes — set the sleep timer and it fades out gently, or use the Nightfall journey, which ends on its own.
Is the screen dark enough for a bedroom?
Yes. Vantablack mode is pure black, and on OLED screens the pixels turn fully off.
Do the sounds repeat overnight?
No — everything is generated live, so there is no loop to notice at 3am.
